Your hubby or boyfriend would probably love you forever if you bought him a Ferrari but for most this is a dream and they’ll be more than happy with something simpler and less costly that you put some thought into.

Consider some of these options -

There are gadgets and novelties available that are bound to create laughter. For instance, fridge magnets that twist into funny shapes and objects that offer love and reassurance (”You’re the greatest!”, “I think you’ve lost weight!”) when they’re handled.

If you want good Christmas gifts that are little more conventional, the possibilities include good video games which are available for all of the major gaming consoles, as well as the handy outdoor griller he’d like to have for home entertaining.

When you want to step up to something special, and a great Christmas gift is your priority, you can hardly go wrong with some of the latest electronic gadgets that have hit the market. These include mobile phones and music players that have the latest “singing and dancing” features, such as access to the internet and easy touch screens.

If popularity is a guide for you, the latest items in hot Christmas gifts include products from the movie franchises, such as “Star Wars”, “Tranformers”, and “Iron Man”. For girls, the DVD and games developed from the “Twilight” series are very popular.

The hottest Christmas gifts naturally receive the most attention. Boys and girls have all been excited about the “Force Trainer” from the Star Wars series which visibly helps participants to focus their attention and mentally move a ball upwards in a hollow tube. On the hunt for funny or unique Christmas gift ideas for boyfriends?

Perhaps you’ve just begun dating and you aren’t sure about the type of gift you want to get him. Alternatively he may be the kind of guy who has everything so you aren’t sure what will really get his attention.

If you identify with either of these scenarios then the way to go is to surprise him with out-of-the-box gift ideas. Give your boyfriend the type of gifts that he ordinarily wouldn’t know existed.

Here are some of my favorite unique and funny Christmas gift ideas for a boyfriend who has everything that will cost you $15 or less.

If he’s a fan of Batman or at the very least enjoyed the movie then he won’t be able to wait to try the ‘Batman Comics BOOM WHAK Briefs’ for men on! These exciting cotton briefs feature Batman delivering punches in true Bat-tastic spirit.

Not only is he delivering blows, it’s accompanied by screaming letters that say ‘Boom’ in the front and ‘Whak’ at the back. The waistband has trademark ‘Batman’ lettering. Your boyfriend will get a real kick wearing these!

All men secretly now or really want to believe that they superheroes. You can indulge your boyfriend in his fantasy by gifting him Superhero Cufflinks that come in their own gift box. He’ll loving wearing these since he gets to show off his strength both at work and at play.

You can tickle your boyfriend’s funny bone by gifting him a metal cheesecake magnet in the shape of a voluptuous woman - in this case ‘Wendy’. Wendy is a steamy magnet decked out in fluffy underwear who’ll look gorgeous on any refrigerator door.

Accompany this gift with magnets spelling out what you’d like to say to your boyfriend and you’ll have a gift on your hands that’s going to thoroughly woo him!

Secrets of a Holiday Shopping Diva: The List Full of Great Christmas Gift Ideas

General No Comments »
Barbie
Image via Wikipedia

The list is the most important tool in your armory. Why do you think Santa checks his twice?

One of the most important things a successful shopper needs is a list. In my virgin expedition I had what I now term a target item: the bike for my toddler, but I didn’t really have a list. This is a huge mistake. Upon finding myself at the store I found about 10 varieties of pedal and toddler bikes all displayed beautifully. I had done no research to know which one was best in terms of durability, safety, ease of assembly, price and value or any of the other important criteria.

Thus unprepared I found myself trying to hover over several brands shooing other would-be purchasers away from my menagerie until I could select which one I wanted. Let me assure you this was no easy feat. I might have been better off looking online to see what was available and then, purchasing one from a store that specializes in great baby and toddler ride on toys, like this one: http://www.simplyuniquebabygifts.com/baby-toys.html

Whether shopping online or offline, a real list, not just a collection of target items or gift ideas, needs to be specific right down to brand name and price margin. Getting this targeted by doing important line item research before hand is the only way to enter the holiday-stocked store prepared. Otherwise the likelihood of being drawn off target looking from one type of toddler bike, as in my case, or Barbie or doll house or paint set etc, will increase dramatically.

Such detailed preparation will minimize buyer’s remorse. Being able to confidently identify your child’s exact wish (as well as yours) also enables you to get in and get out quickly. This means you really will be saving time and money. Otherwise you find yourself wandering aimless amid a sea of pushing jostling rabid shoppers. Your experience is not likely to end well.

Don’t limit your list to one item. If you are going to battle the crowds, as we all must at some point in the holiday season, try to get as much done at one time as you can. Assemble a detailed list for each person for whom you need a gift. Then you can organize your shopping sprees for maximum impact. For example: during my ill-fated pedal bike excursion, I could have also shopped for our baby daughter. It would have cost me very little in the way of extra time and bother to snag a doll, a teddy bear or a baby activity table for her.

I could have also explored the option of buying a gift from “Santa” that would be exciting for both of my kids to receive, such as a Big Red Classic All-Terrain Wagon. Our neighbor has one and my kids have taken a ride in it a time or two and squeals of delight could be heard throughout the neighborhood as they cruised through the park located close by my home. So, that is another great option for one of the “big gifts” that would be found under the tree on Christmas morning.

One common mistake is allowing yourself to be swept into the stream of holiday shoppers without a clear objective in mind. You’d never dream of jumping into a swift stream with a strong current without a clear knowledge of how you were going to emerge safely on the other side. Heading to do your shopping, especially gift shopping, without a clear objective is just as risky a prospect.

A list is your anchor; so don’t leave home without it. Aimless shopping is so much less enjoyable than the thrill of accomplishment knowing you got the perfect item for Aunt Harriet and you can now cross her off the list.

Edie Mindell is the writer for SimplyUniqueBabyGifts.com. Parents, grandparents and other “Santa’s” will love the large selections, in stock, ready for the holiday season. From a Radio Flyer Classic Wagon to a pedal car. From pedal trains to tricycles and more, visit their online catalog at Simply Unique Baby Gifts and enjoy free shipping (lower 48 states).

Great Gift Ideas for the Sports Nut Dad

A running back sweeps the left end in a high s...
Image via Wikipedia

It’s common knowledge that dads are notoriously hard to buy for, whether the occasion is Christmas, his birthday, or even Fathers Day! Does he really need another bottle of cologne or sweater or tie? Of course he doesn’t. If he’s a “sports nut,” there are lots of things you can get him that he’ll really appreciate and love. So don’t give Dad the short end of the stick because you can’t come up with anything great to give him. Here are some great gift ideas for the sports nut dad in a wide variety of price ranges.

– Get him tickets. You know that all he wants to do is to be there for the game and see it live if at all possible. If you live in a major city, you’re in luck. Why not give him a pair of tickets to see his favorite sports team? He may not want to spend the money on himself, but he will be thrilled if someone else takes the trouble to buy the tickets for him. Put them in a sports-themed card and then send him on a sports “treasure hunt” in the house to find it.

– If the sports nut man in your life has young children, he’s probably really into their sports activities and never misses a game. Before he knows it, his little T-ball player will be playing at the high school level, so immortalize the moment by getting him a personalized sports gift with his son’s (or daughter’s) picture on it. There is a wide variety of different items that can be personalized, from baseballs to bats to hockey pucks to footballs. Yes, if you insist on getting him a tie, even one of those can be personalized! It will be something he’ll always cherish and be proud of.

– If the kids are all grown, how about getting Dad an autographed collectible item? If he has been keeping a baseball collection for years, why not get him that hard to find card he has always wanted but would never spend the money on for himself? Autographed football helmets, framed posters, and photographs will look great in his den.

– For the man who has everything: give your sports nut dad an experience he’ll never forget. If he’s crazy for the local college team, call the school’s athletic department and arrange a private meeting between Dad and the head coach in exchange for a donation to the coach’s favorite charity. This is a great idea for older dads, especially, who still love sports but don’t want any more “stuff.” He’ll be absolutely thrilled at the chance to bend the ear of Coach and will be able to finally give him all that great advice in person!

Peculiar Gifts (http://www.peculiarstuff.com) offers a growing line of unique personalized sports gifts, accessories and sports team gifts. Choose from a variety of personalized sports gifts for your sports loving dad. Art Gib is a freelance writer.

Original Gift Ideas For Your Dad

Whatever excuses you make up, no matter how much you try to justify the reasons for your choice; it becomes inevitable that you end up buying the same gift year after year for your parents, especially your Dad. One can only hope that this will change over time; however one does not need to make the gift an expensive one and can in fact be much more sentimental than purchasing a simple object. If this year you would like to be original in your approach to
Thinking up original gift ideas for your mum or dad does not have to be in the form of slippers or a new garment. The best ideas are that of the ones that have been organised months in advance such as taking part in a group activity to which you know they will enjoy. Depending upon the kind of person they are, this should ideally be done without any problems and should in fact be booked at least three months in advance. Therefore you should have given yourself enough time to research what you plan to do on the day and how you want the day to pan out.

Always contact the venue first and find out what will be included with the activity package. These activities might need some preparation on your part, in other words you may be asked to wear suitable clothing or suitable shoes for the event. Those with a medical condition may not be permitted to take part and therefore may need to do something else, which is another reason why people should give themselves more time to prepare.

Gift ideas that involve activities can in fact be fun and rewarding, making the day much more memorable and allowing the person to share the joy with other people. The activities do not necessarily have to be grandiose and can only last for the day. The kind of activities that most people appreciate is things like a treat day at the spa, wine tasting experiences, a hot air ballooning experience, an evening at a Canadian winter party or even a photography session getting the day captured with a fancy portrait.

If on Father’s day your Dad prefers to partake in something more active, then organising an adventure hike along the Canadian Rockies is a great way to see the sights and stay active without exerting yourself. Or perhaps it is a pulse-racing event that takes his fancy such as a day rally driving, off road hummer adventure driving, rock climbing or caving. The idea is to be adventurous involving everyone who is willing to participate to get involved with working together as a team and encourage the bonding process between family members.

Other gift ideas can be tailored towards their interests such as being a spectator at a car racing event or even taking cooking or flying lessons. The occasion will be one that they will remember and enjoy, taking home a new experience and possibly even a souvenir to commemorate the day.

Anna Stenning is an expert on gift ideas for parents, seeing that many find themselves buying the same or similar gift each year.

Green Gift Ideas For Holiday Giving - 7 Gift Ideas You’ll Love

General No Comments »
RelianceMart5
Image via Wikipedia

Are you looking for green gift ideas for holiday giving because you want to rethink giving and receiving gifts that are really not needed (and often not wanted)? That’s great, because here are 7 green gift ideas that will really make a difference to the person receiving them and to the environment as a whole.

Cloth Napkins–Beautiful organic cloth napkins are a green and reusable alternative to paper napkins. Give napkins that match a color scheme, china pattern, or ones that are seasonal in flavor (no pun intended). If you sew, making your own would really make them a gift from you.

Rechargeable Batteries–Save money and the environment by using rechargeable batteries that power toys, clocks, and numerous other household and office gadgets. This would greatly reduce the number of batteries in landfills that contain chemicals like cadmium and mercury.

Subscription to a Green Magazine–Living green can at first seem like a lot of redoing of processes that are already working in our homes and offices. A subscription to a green magazine can make it easy and fun to change old habits to ones that will benefit the environment.

A Bicycle–Giving a bicycle is real fuel saver, and an energy producer for the person who uses it. Saves gas money and time on commutes to the gym for adults, and provides a free activity for families with children.

Tote Bags–Think how many trees would be saved if each time you shopped at the grocery store, drug store, or visited the library you had your own reusable bag. Get creative and decorate your own, or buy one that supports a favorite cause of the person who will use it.

Living Tree–A living tree is the perfect gift for a gardener, or for an elderly person that wants something small for a table. The tree will continue to benefit the environment long after the holiday season is gone whether it remains inside or is planted outside. Ask family or friends of the receiver for ideas about which tree would be best.

Air Purifier–Give an air purifier to improve indoor air quality. Home and office air is often recycled and becomes stale and polluted. Giving a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) air purifier is a non-invasive and environmentally friendly way to improve health and overall quality of life. Can you think of anything more important in life than clean air?

An excellent resource for an air purifier that will send 250 cubic feet of fresh air into your home or office every 60 seconds is offered by PurerAir.com– the HealthMate Air Purifier at http://purerair.com/healthmate_hm400.html

1/ Make it sweet

Baby gifts for girls must be made with sugar and spice and everything nice, whether baby jewellery or dress up stuff or rose tinted tea sets or cutie pie dolls, there must be a heavy dose of girlie sweetness in whatever you choose. Apart from the proverbial pink and shades of rose, you can opt for colours like yellow, purple, red and even green or mauve, but blue is still a male bastion.

2/ Baby clothes are a real delight

Shopping for such cute items for a newborn delicate darling girl is a real treat.
